In this article, Iain McKay looks specifically at Proudhon’s contributions to libertarian socialist economics. Perhaps one of the most interesting aspects of this piece is just how much of socialist economic theory originated not with Marx (as the traditional histories are written), but with Proudhon. McKay draws out these contributions, as well as some of the visionary and strategic commitments of Proudhon’s mutualism.
